Flourish - Living Gratitude Finding Peace

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, pray with thanksgiving and present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

Gratitude sounds simple enough, right? We should all just quit worrying and start saying thanks. Make a list. Keep it by your bed, right? Well . . . maybe, but gratitude can move far beyond a simple exercise in counting our blessings. Living gratitude creates a profound shift in the way we experience our lives, and can reinvigorate our hearts toward serving others.

We are directed to give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18), but what does that look like? In our time together we will discuss both the art and science of gratitude. Not only will you leave with new ideas to put to use, but we'll get a sense of the grace that says you don't need to do anything.

Our retreat speaker, Evi Wusk, has experienced the profound difference that gratitude can make in times of joy and times of trial. In all of it, gratitude is always available to us as a way to see Jesus right there, God with us, in times of joy and times of suffering. Together we will see how gratitude doesn't change situations, but can change how we experience them and change us in the process.  Gratitude gives us eyes to see God at work in our daily lives. Come and join us, you'll be thankful you did.
