Middle School Mission Trip - YouthWorks Rapid City, SD
July 7-12, 2019
$350, 18 spots reserved
In Rapid City, we partner with several local service agencies and work with children and the elderly. One of the most interesting organizations we work with is Black Hills Works, a progressive and adaptive center for mentally and physically challenged adults in Rapid City. Their center provides job training, paid work, practical life classes and other services. Groups will be able to see Mount Rushmore, but they’ll also learn about other aspects of Rapid City, such as the importance of the Black Hills to the Lakota. You’ll also participate in the largest cookout in our Western region. YouthWorks has partnered with this community since 1999.
Serving in Rapid City
- Partner with local organizations to meet ongoing needs in the community.
- Students may serve all or part of the week at a food shelf, clothing distribution center, soup kitchen, children’s program or elder care facility.
- You’ll have the option of visiting Mount Rushmore or the Crazy Horse Memorial during your week of service.

Middle School Mission Trips
At Bethany we offer a summer middle school mission trip for our completed 6th-8th grade youth. This trip is a great way to introduce our youth to a variety of ways they can be the hands and feet of Christ while away from home. Our mission trips often include a great sampling of different areas youth can serve in. They hopefully can then return home with some ideas of ways they can serve in their own community. In the past our youth have gone to places such as Kansas City, MO; Duluth, MN; Rapid City, SD; Denver, CO; among others. We tend to keep the middle school trips closer than our high school trips because for some youth it is their first trip away from home.
